Happy Birthday to me!!

Well, it has been quite a while since I've written. I have been keeping up with my usual blogs and added many things to my list of home projects and blog topics, but just haven't written anything. I'm not exactly sure why...well, time, work, family, Manwich, but also loading pictures. I know that sounds a bit dumb as I am a photo geek and constantly have my massive camera or Flip around, but over the last couple months, I haven't taken a. single. picture. I feel bad because so many things have been going on, but I just haven't felt inspired. I'm about ready to start again, though!  Just in time for spring! :)

Anyway! My birthday was at the beginning of this month and I recieved a little money that I have been hoarding, not sure what to do with it. I was going to deposit it into the bank and be done with it, but my husband encouraged me to use it and actually buy something for me with it. I don't usually spend too much mooney, especially on my self. I tend to have expensive taste, so I just don't buy anything. Anyway, I was reading a favorite blog the other day, Vintage Revivals, and came across a post about a Silhouette cutting machine.

It is similar to a Cricut, but to me, waaaaayyyy better!! It will cut all sorts of paper weights, FABRIC(!!!), vinyl, magnet sheets, temporary tattoo sheets, stencil material, etched glass designs, rhinestone designs, cutouts to make little boxes, draw with a ball point pen or marker instead of cut, and best of all...no catridges to buy! You hook the machine up to your computer and then within the program, you can either select a free image or purchse them from their online store. Also, all of the fonts loaded on your computer are  compatible and FREE....MONOGRAM CENTRAL!!! I was able to score a deal where my machine was $100 off AND I received 2 rolls of the fabric interfacing (one iron-on, one sewable), 1 roll of vinyl material, and a $10 card towards their online store...I see pillows in my future!!! Each of the designs are $.99 or less! You do have to buy the specialty sheets seperately, but they run at approximately $7 per pack, and for me, would last quite a while. I AM SO EXCITED!!! It has not arrived yet, but when it does, I'll be sure to let you know what I think!!! :)

I will have to be sure to also use my cool hot pink tool set from my dear friend Carolyn!

And my Wagner paint sprayer from my beloved husband!

I totally hit the jackpot this year for my birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This means....many unique projects to come!  And even more personalized gifts to give!

And, I guess there is no excuse not to finish repainting my kitchen chairs now......that post to come in the next week or so!

  2. Thanks, dear! I meant to tell you about it yesterday, but I forgot :) I knew you'd be excited. Unfortunately, the deal ended Sunday, but I'm sure another will come around before the holidays. If I see it, I'll let you know!

  3. I'm a little jealous of your new toys! You are going to have so much fun breaking them in. I just might have to invite myself over to play with the cutting machine. :)
